Description
Searching and digging for clams on the tidal mudflats helps the Alaskan coastal brown bear bulk up in the spring after emerging from winter hibernation. Once a bear identifies the tell-tale squirt of water that jets up through the mud from the clam below, his massive paws and claws easily dig down to uncover the meal lying hidden beneath.
