Artist's Description
A petroglyph of a fully-laden pack mule, probably dating back to the time of the Coronado expedition which passed through southern Arizona in 1540 in search of riches rumored to be in the "Seven Cities of Cibola." The pack mule petroglyph sits atop a boulder-strewn hill in the Ironwood Forest National Monument west of Tucson, beneath the snag of a giant Ironwood tree.
